Meet Amy: Apexiar's First AI Assistant

When we developed the complex architecture for AMIS, the next phase was to develop a powerful second brain for safety teams, powered by an intelligent AI assistant.

Amy — Apexiar's Strategic AI Assistant interface showing incident analysis and suggested questions

Safety teams in high-risk environments face an overwhelming challenge: making sense of hundreds of incidents, staffing decisions, and compliance requirements — often under pressure and with limited time. After building AMIS into a comprehensive incident management platform, we knew the next step wasn't just more dashboards. It was intelligence.

That's why we built Amy — Apexiar's first Strategic AI Assistant, embedded directly into AMIS.

What is Amy?

Amy is a timeframe-based operational analysis engine that sits on top of your incident data. She has access to your incidents, risk analysis, forecast alerts, and scheduled events — and she can answer natural language questions about all of it.

Rather than requiring teams to build reports manually or export data into spreadsheets, Amy lets you simply ask a question:

"Which locations need additional staff deployed this week?"
"Give me a staff safety summary — how many assaults and where?"
"What incident types are trending upward? Compare this period to the same time last year."

Amy processes the request against your selected timeframe — whether that's the last month, three months, or a custom range — and returns both a quick summary and a detailed analysis, depending on what you need.

Two Modes of Intelligence

Amy operates with two distinct scopes, each designed for different operational questions:

General Intelligence uses your selected timeframe for broad operational questions. Think trend analysis, staffing forecasts, and cross-location comparisons. This is your bird's-eye view of what's happening across your entire operation.

Event Intelligence narrows the focus to a single upcoming event — pulling in its previous review, local event pressure, and historical context. This is critical for pre-event briefings and resource allocation decisions.

Built for the Way Safety Teams Actually Work

We designed Amy around real workflows. Safety managers don't have time to build pivot tables at 7am before a briefing. They need answers — fast, accurate, and in context.

Amy provides suggested questions out of the box, informed by common operational needs:

  • Are there any forecast alerts I should act on?
  • What events are coming up and what's their expected impact?
  • What are the main recommendations for reducing incidents?
  • Give me a summary suitable for a manager briefing.

Each response is grounded in your actual data — not generic advice. Amy knows your locations, your incident types, your trends, and your scheduled events.

From Reactive to Strategic

The shift Amy enables is fundamental. Traditional incident management is reactive: something happens, you log it, you report on it. Amy moves teams into a proactive posture by surfacing patterns before they become problems.

When Amy tells you that assaults at a particular location have increased 40% compared to the same quarter last year, and that an event with historically high incident rates is scheduled for next week — that's not a report. That's a call to action, delivered in seconds.

Privacy and Security First

Amy operates entirely within the AMIS platform's security architecture. Your data never leaves the system to train external models. Every query is scoped to the user's permissions and the selected timeframe. This was non-negotiable — in regulated environments, data governance isn't optional.

What's Next

Amy is the first of what will become a family of AI assistants across the Apexiar ecosystem. Each product in our platform — Artemis, Atlas, Axis, and Assure — presents unique opportunities for intelligent automation and analysis. Amy is where it starts.
